  • 2025

    McDougall Energy integrates Dodsley Propane and Dowler-Karn Limited

    • Dodsley Propane and Dowler-Karn Limited, Divisions of McDougall Energy Inc., begin operating exclusively as McDougall Energy in Chatham-Kent, Sarnia, St. Mary's, St. Thomas, and Tillsonburg, Ontario.

  • 2024

    McDougall Energy celebrates 75 years of excellence, retains Platinum Club status with Canada's Best Managed Companies, and acquires Nasco Propane of Timmins, ON.

    • McDougall Energy celebrates its 75th anniversary in business as a trusted energy provider since 1949.
    • McDougall Energy requalifies as a Platinum Club member with Canada's Best Managed Companies, having consecutively retained its designation since 2011.
    • Edward Fuels, A Division of McDougall Energy Inc., begins operating exclusively as McDougall Energy in Goderich and Teeswater, Ontario.
    • McDougall Energy acquires Nasco Propane, a leading propane supplier in Timmins, ON, enhancing its portfolio of energy solutions in Northern Ontario. Nasco now operates exclusively as McDougall Energy in the region.

  • 2023

    McDougall Energy opens new corporately-owned retail and cardlock stations in London and Strathroy, and is recognized for its Community Investment and Service.

    • McDougall Energy opens its London Esso Circle K and Esso Commercial Cardlock location and new Strathroy Shell and Circle K location.
    • McDougall Energy is awarded the Community Investment Award (50+ employees) at the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Business Achievement Awards.
    • McDougall Energy is the recipient of the Community Service/Local Impact/Giving Back Impact Award from Convenience Store News Canada.
    • McDougall Energy is recognized as Company of the Year (51+ employees) at the Northern Ontario Business Awards.
    • Davis Fuels, A Division of McDougall Energy Inc., begins operating exclusively as McDougall Energy in Burford, Ontario.

  • 2022

    McDougall Energy acquires Dowler-Karn Limited and integrates Manitoulin Fuels.

    • McDougall Energy acquires Dowler-Karn Limited and its fuels, propane, and lubricant business based in St. Thomas, Ontario. Dowler-Karn now operates as A Division of McDougall Energy Inc. 
    • Manitoulin Fuels, A Division of McDougall Energy Inc., begins operating exclusively as McDougall Energy in Little Current, Ontario. 
    • McDougall Energy is awarded the Beyond Sault Ste. Marie Award (50+ employees) at the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Business Achievements Awards.

  • 2021

    McDougall Energy completes four acquisitions, including Rosen Energy, Vieira Fuels, Robo Tech Fabricating Inc., and Dodsley Propane; expands Auto market into Manitoba as an Esso-branded Wholesaler.

    • McDougall Energy acquires and integrates Rosen Energy and its liquid fuel distribution and full-service HVAC business based in Kingston, ON.
    • McDougall Energy acquires and integrates Vieira Fuels and its liquid fuel distribution and full-service HVAC business based in Hamilton, ON.
    • McDougall Energy acquires and integrates Robo Tech Fabricating Inc., a design manufacturing and service garage for the energy tanker industry in London, ON.
    • McDougall Energy acquires Dodsley Propane and its residential and commercial propane business based in Tillsonburg, ON. Dodsley Propane now operates as A Division of McDougall Energy Inc.
    • McDougall Energy’s auto team expands into Manitoba as a trusted Esso-branded Wholesaler.

  • 2020

    McDougall Energy acquires Edward Fuels Inc. and associated companies; expands Auto market into Saskatchewan as an Esso-branded Wholesaler.

    • McDougall Energy acquires Edward Fuels Limited and associated companies, Manitoulin Fuels Limited and Petroline Petroleums.
    • Edward Fuels and Manitoulin Fuels are multi-channel distributors and marketers of Shell-branded products, including fuels and lubricants, and provide HVAC services and solutions.
    • Petroline, now integrated into McDougall Energy, is a multi-site retail gas and convenience store business.
    • Edward Fuels and Manitoulin Fuels each operate as A Division of McDougall Energy Inc. in their respective regions.
    • McDougall Energy’s auto team expands into Alberta as a trusted Esso-branded Wholesaler.
